Joshua Morton,Francisco Montez Obituary, Death; – The two individuals who were shot and killed in Corcoran have been identified as 30-year-old Joshua Morton and 19-year-old Francisco Montez.
Morton hailed from Hanford, while Montez was a resident of Corcoran. Just after midnight on Thursday, law enforcement responded to reports of gunfire as well as a collision near a business located at the intersection of Dairy and Stanley avenues.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered a woman who they reported had been struck by Morton. She had just concluded her operations for the night with her food truck. Authorities located Morton behind the wheel of a vehicle, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Shortly thereafter, police confirmed that Montez was receiving treatment at a hospital in Tulare, where he subsequently succumbed to his injuries. These shootings represent the third homicide incident of the year within the city of Corcoran. Family members of the injured woman have stated that she was treated and subsequently released from the hospital.
