Joshua Davis,Aaron Davis Obituary, Death; – Two of four brothers from New Jersey tragically lost their lives in an accident when their vehicle careened off an I-95 overpass in the Port Richmond area of Philadelphia, according to authorities.
Police reported that a Mazda carrying the four brothers somehow veered off I-95 and landed on Castor Avenue below the interstate around 8:30 p.m. on Friday.
The deceased have been identified as 22-year-old Joshua Davis from Cranbury and 23-year-old Aaron Davis from East Windsor, as confirmed by the Philadelphia Department of Public Health on Monday. Their two other brothers, 18-year-olds Benjamin and Nathaniel, also from East Windsor, sustained serious injuries in the incident, according to state police.
Aerial views reveal a gap in the guardrail through which the vehicle fell approximately 20 to 30 feet. The two rear passengers were ejected from the car and succumbed to their injuries.
The driver and the front passenger were transported to local hospitals, where they are currently in critical condition. Witnesses informed police that the Mazda and a Dodge Challenger were racing northbound on I-95 at a high speed when the Mazda’s driver lost control.
The exact reason for the loss of control remains unclear, but sources suggest that street racing may have played a role. Additionally, Pennsylvania State Police reported that a puppy traveling in the vehicle was also ejected and found deceased. Authorities are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact the Philadelphia police.
