Joseph Zolnowski Obituary, Death; – The individual implicated in a hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of an 84-year-old woman from Boston Heights is set to be arraigned at Stow Municipal Court on Thursday morning. Deputies from the Summit County Sheriff’s Office have identified the driver as 35-year-old Joseph Zolnowski from Parma. Zolnowski faces charges for leaving the scene of an accident.
As reported by deputies, Zolnowski collided with Elizabeth Rock around 8 p.m. on Tuesday in the 9200 block of Olde Eight Road in Northfield Center Township before fleeing the location. Rock had just exited St. Barnabus Church, where her five-year-old granddaughter had participated in a Christmas concert.
Witnesses provided first aid until emergency medical services arrived and transported her to MetroHealth Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead. Zolnowski surrendered to deputies on Wednesday. A representative from St. Barnabus stated to 19 News, “The parish prays for her family and we ask everyone else for their prayers as well.”
