Jose Roberto Ferreira Obituary, Death; – A suspect has been apprehended following the Pineville Police Department’s report of a man being shot and killed early Saturday evening.
Officers were dispatched to The Brook apartment complex located off Johnston Road at approximately 6 p.m. in response to an assault involving a deadly weapon. Upon their arrival, they discovered 37-year-old Jose Roberto Ferreira suffering from a gunshot wound within an apartment. Although first responders provided immediate assistance, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Johann Manuel Ibarra, had allegedly fled the scene before the police arrived. He was subsequently apprehended by officers at a nearby gas station without any incidents. The department announced on Sunday night that he was undergoing an interview.
Pineville Police indicated that Ferreira and Ibarra were acquainted and that this incident was not a random act of violence.
