Jose Duran-Lopez Obituary, Death; – The Wilmington Police Department has confirmed the identity of the 28-year-old individual who was fatally shot early Saturday morning in the Riverfront district of the city.
Authorities received a call regarding the incident in the 100 block of S. West St., near the Barclays building, shortly after 1:45 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered Jose Duran-Lopez suffering from severe injuries. Emergency medical personnel transported him to a nearby hospital, where he subsequently succumbed to his injuries.
At this time, law enforcement has not disclosed any information regarding potential suspects. The shooting of Duran-Lopez marks the tenth homicide resulting from gun violence in Wilmington this year.
