Jonathan Gibson Obituary, Death; – A man is currently hospitalized following an attempted robbery at a business in Jackson on Friday afternoon. The Mississippi Department of Public Safety reported that Capitol Police officers responded to a call at 1:18 p.m. concerning the attempted robbery on Highway 80.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered that 27-year-old Jonathan Gibson had fled the scene after sustaining a gunshot wound to the abdomen inflicted by another individual within the establishment. According to the MDPS, Gibson has a significant criminal record and had previously attempted to rob the same business.
He was apprehended shortly after officers arrived and subsequently transported to a hospital, where he is reported to be in stable condition. Gibson is expected to face charges of robbery and aggravated assault.
