John Henry Jones V Obituary, Death; – A high-speed police pursuit culminated in a fatal accident in southeast Kansas on Thursday.

According to the Labette County Sheriff’s Office, John Henry Jones V lost his life after colliding with a tree during the chase. The sheriff’s office reported that deputies initiated the pursuit of Jones, who was operating a Ford F-150, on Friday afternoon after he disregarded a stop sign at the intersection of 20000 and Wallace Rd.

He was allegedly traveling in excess of 100 miles per hour and attempted to evade law enforcement by driving through a field. During the chase, Jones forced four other drivers off the road and at one point attempted to collide with a deputy’s patrol vehicle. The incident concluded on Wallace Rd, east of Parsons, when Jones failed to navigate a curve and crashed into a tree.

Emergency Medical Services transported Jones to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The sheriff’s office indicated that Jones was operating the vehicle with a suspended license and had outstanding warrants for his arrest in Montgomery and Neosho counties.
