John G Powell Obituary, Death;- Springdale authorities have confirmed the identity of a man who lost his life in a vehicle-pedestrian collision that occurred on January 2. The deceased, identified as John G. Powell, 56, was hit around 6 p.m. at the intersection of Don Tyson Parkway and Cambridge Street, as reported in a news release.
The Springdale Police Department (SPD) indicated that Powell was wearing dark clothing when he entered the eastbound lane of traffic on Don Tyson Parkway, resulting in the collision with the vehicle. Despite being transported to a local hospital with critical injuries, Powell ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
The driver involved in the incident remained at the scene and has been cooperative with law enforcement. Authorities have indicated that the driver is not anticipated to face any charges related to this event. An SPD spokesperson expressed condolences to Mr. Powell’s family and friends in the release.
