John Death; – The California Highway Patrol has confirmed the identity of the driver involved in the fatal incident that claimed the life of a teenage bicyclist near BMO Stadium in Exposition Park.

The victim, believed to be 16 years old and referred to by friends as John, was tragically struck by a driver in what authorities suspect may have been a road-rage incident on Friday night.

According to investigators, a search warrant was executed at a residence in Los Angeles the following evening, resulting in the seizure of two vehicles, including the Honda Accord implicated in the fatal collision. While the 28-year-old individual of interest has not been publicly named, law enforcement is encouraging him to come forward.

The incident reportedly began when approximately 40 bicyclists traveling south on Figueroa Street became involved in a confrontation with the driver of a sedan. This driver is alleged to have pursued the group into the parking lot adjacent to the stadium, where he struck the victim. The driver subsequently fled the scene, and the teenage boy was pronounced dead at the location.

On Saturday, friends and family convened at the site of the crash to pay tribute to the victim. Some of John’s friends expressed their desire for prompt justice. “It’s really difficult to articulate; we’re just trying to ride, and it’s equally challenging for the family,” stated Manuel Ramirez. “He did not deserve to lose his life in such a manner.”
