On October 5, Missouri State Troopers responded to a report of an accident in Franklin County. Upon their arrival, they discovered a green 1999 Ford Explorer overturned and submerged in a creek. Authorities located a deceased woman at the scene, later identified as 45-year-old Jody Pierce, according to KSDK. The probable cause statement refers to the victim only by the initials JP.
A witness informed the troopers that they were on a call with Jody Pierce while she was driving, during which she mentioned that her husband, Donald A. Pierce Jr., was pursuing her, as per court records. Additional witnesses reported seeing Donald A. Pierce Jr. in a Chevrolet Impala at the crash site. His cell phone was also recovered near Jody Pierce’s vehicle, according to court records.
Authorities traced the Impala to the residence of its owner, who stated that Donald had arrived at their home, claimed involvement in a crash, and then departed. Another witness recounted that prior to the accident, Jody Pierce had dropped her off at a residence around 4 p.m. While she was still inside Jody Pierce’s Explorer, Donald allegedly entered the vehicle by “jumping through the front passenger side window.”
The witness reported that Donald A. Pierce Jr. verbally assaulted Jody Pierce before running up the street to the Impala in an attempt to block her in the driveway. After Jody Pierce managed to leave, she began driving, while Donald drove erratically, cutting in front of her, as stated by investigators. Authorities believe that Donald A.
