Jessie Hilliard Jr,Antwane Perkins Obituary, Death; – Two men from Stockton who were fatally shot in the city on Monday afternoon have been identified.
Jessie Hilliard Jr., aged 19, and Antwane Perkins, aged 27, succumbed to their injuries, as reported by the San Joaquin County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Stockton police indicated that the shooting was reported at approximately 4:45 p.m. in the 300 block of South San Joaquin Street, close to Sonora Street.
Officers conducted a search of the scene and discovered the two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds, according to police. Both were declared dead at the scene. Initially, police described the victims as being in their 20s. Authorities have not released any information regarding potential suspects. Homicide detectives are currently conducting an investigation.
The nature of the relationship between the victims remains unclear. To date, there have been 17 homicides recorded in Stockton, in contrast to 23 during the same timeframe last year, as per police reports. In total, there were 45 homicides in 2024.
Additionally, three other individuals have lost their lives in two separate shootings this year in the vicinity of South San Joaquin Street, south of Highway 4. Among those victims, two were 17 years old.
