Jessica Ann Goodwin Arrested; – A driver has been apprehended in connection with the fatal incident involving a Berkeley County sergeant that occurred early Monday morning. The sergeant, who was a member of the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, was operating a motorcycle when he was struck by a vehicle on Old Gilliard Road (Highway 27) at approximately 5 a.m.
According to Cpl. Nick Pye of the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the driver of a 2011 Toyota sedan, identified as 30-year-old Jessica Ann Goodwin, fled the scene but was subsequently found. Goodwin did not sustain any injuries from the accident and is facing charges for hit and run, specifically for leaving the scene of a collision that resulted in death.
