Jerome Scholz Obituary, Death; – An off-duty officer from the Irving Police Department tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident on Friday, as reported by the department. The officer has been named as 38-year-old Jerome Scholz.
The collision, involving multiple vehicles, occurred on the 7800 block of Valley View Lane near Interstate Highway 635. Authorities were alerted to the scene at approximately 4:40 p.m. on Friday. Upon arrival, officers recognized Scholz and promptly transported him to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation is currently underway; however, initial findings indicate that “the other driver failed to yield the right of way while making a turn,” according to police. Scholz had served with the Irving Police Department for five years and was also a veteran of the United States Army, as stated by the Irving Police. Irving Police Chief Derick Miller shared a statement regarding the incident on X on Saturday.
