Jeremy Paul Hurst Obituary, Death; – A 49-year-old man from Madison County tragically lost his life on Wednesday afternoon after colliding his motorcycle with a garbage truck.
As reported in a news release by the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office, the motorcyclist was identified as Jeremy Paul Hurst.
The report indicates that the accident took place on 160th East near the Old Ririe Highway at approximately 12:30 p.m.
Emergency responders, including Idaho Falls Ambulance, the Sheriff’s Office, and Jefferson Central Fire, arrived at the scene. Upon their arrival, they discovered Hurst trapped beneath the garbage truck.
After extricating him, emergency personnel attempted life-saving measures; however, he ultimately succumbed to his injuries at the crash site. An air ambulance was summoned but ultimately not utilized.
Investigators concluded that Hurst had failed to notice the garbage truck parked on the roadside in time to prevent the collision.
Witnesses informed deputies that Hurst had laid his motorcycle down before impacting the truck. At the time of the accident, Hurst was wearing a helmet.
