Jaylen Smith Obituary, Death; – A 16-year-old who was shot and killed in Paulina has been identified, and the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office has announced an arrest in the case.
Jaylen Smith, 16, was shot and killed on Aug. 6 on Highway 642. Smith was shot multiple times, according to the sheriff’s office. He later died at a hospital.
On Monday night, a 16-year-old was arrested in connection with the case.
That teen is facing a charge of first-degree murder. Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 225-562-2200.
