Javion Giovanni Crim Obituary, Death; – An 18-year-old man from Temple lost his life on Monday morning following a high-speed chase that culminated in a fiery motorcycle accident on the IH-35 service road, as reported by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The event commenced at approximately 9:52 a.m. when a DPS Trooper attempted to pull over a motorcycle for reckless driving and excessive speed on eastbound IH-14 in Belton. Authorities indicated that the rider, identified as Javion Giovanni Crim, accelerated in an attempt to evade law enforcement, reaching speeds exceeding 100 mph as he transitioned onto northbound IH-35.
According to police, Crim exited at Midway Drive, disregarded a red light, and continued to weave between vehicles along the service road. Due to the heavy traffic and safety concerns, the pursuing Trooper reduced speed and lost sight of the motorcycle.
Shortly thereafter, the Trooper encountered a crash involving a burning motorcycle. Investigators reported that Crim collided with the rear of an 18-wheeler at a high speed. He was transported to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center with critical injuries and was later pronounced dead.
