Jaren Wilson Obituary, Death; – The identity of a man who was killed in a crash on state Route 91 in Corona on Monday afternoon has been released.
Jaren Wilson, a 25-year-old resident of Corona, succumbed to his injuries at the crash site, which was reported shortly before 4 p.m. on the eastbound side of the freeway, near the Sixth Street offramp, as stated by the coroner’s office.
At the time of the incident, Wilson was operating a 2018 Nissan Versa in the #3 lane when he drifted onto the right shoulder, where a 2022 Freightliner Cascadia was stationary. The semi-trailer truck was disabled, and its hazard lights were activated, according to a report from the California Highway Patrol.
The cause of the collision, which is still under investigation by the CHP, involved the Nissan colliding with the rear of the Freightliner. Following the impact, the Nissan proceeded onto the Sixth Street onramp, where the sole occupant of the vehicle — later identified as Wilson — was ejected, as reported by the CHP.
Fire personnel pronounced Wilson dead at the scene.
