Jane Murphy,Ingrid Murphy Obituary, Death; Mother and daughter found dead after fire in Moody Sunday

Jane Murphy,Ingrid Murphy Obituary, Death; – A tragic house fire in Moody claimed the lives of a mother and daughter early on Easter Sunday morning. According to the Moody Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched to the blaze on Mount Olive Drive, near Acton Road, shortly after 2 a.m. on April 20.

Upon arrival, crews discovered a manufactured home completely consumed by flames. Moody Police officers were present at the scene, where a survivor managed to escape and informed them that two individuals remained inside the residence.

Firefighters successfully controlled the fire and entered the home, where they discovered the bodies of the two women. The St. Clair County Coroner has identified the victims as 77-year-old Jane Murphy and her 57-year-old daughter, Ingrid Murphy, both residents of Moody.

The third individual who escaped, a 32-year-old relative, was transported to UAB Hospital for treatment of burn injuries, as reported by the fire department. A collaborative investigation is currently being conducted by the Moody Fire Department, Moody Police Department, and the Alabama State Fire Marshal’s Office.
