Jamyah Jones Obituary, Death; – Authorities have confirmed the identity of a woman who was fatally shot over the weekend in the Midlands.
Sumter County Coroner Robert Baker reported that 19-year-old Jamyah Jones, hailing from Hampton, Georgia, succumbed to injuries sustained during an incident on Camp Branch Road late Saturday night.
According to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrived at the location around 11:45 p.m. Saturday following reports of gunfire. Jones was found at the scene in an unresponsive state.
In a statement, Sumter County Sheriff Anthony Dennis described the event as “senseless violence” and indicated that investigators are diligently working to apprehend those responsible.
