James Mszanski Obituary, Death; – A man from Campbell, who admitted guilt on Wednesday for the fatal beating of a 76-year-old individual, has been sentenced to a term of 15 years to life in prison.

R-Trell Miller was arraigned Tuesday morning in Mahoning County Court of Common Pleas.

R’Trell Miller, aged 22, received his sentence from Judge R. Scott Krichbaum in the Mahoning County Common Pleas Court after pleading guilty to a murder charge. According to state law, the only permissible sentence for a murder conviction is a minimum of 15 years to life. This charge pertains to the beating death of James Mszanski, aged 76, which occurred on October 5.

Initially, police responded to a report of a possible shooting at the intersection of Main and Walter streets; however, the Mahoning County Coroner’s Office later confirmed that Mszanski’s death was not a result of gun violence. Authorities stated that Mszanski had been beaten. He was transported to St. Elizabeth Health Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Miller was apprehended shortly after Mszanski’s death and has remained in custody since his arrest. He was subsequently indicted by a grand jury in November.
