James Mack Jr Obituary, Death; – Authorities are conducting an investigation following the shooting death of an 18-year-old during an alleged confrontation in Glassport, Allegheny County, on Sunday afternoon. A 17-year-old named James Martin has been charged in relation to the incident.
The Allegheny County Police Department reported that officials were summoned to the 500 block of Monongahela Avenue shortly before 3 p.m. after receiving notifications of a potential shooting in the vicinity. Upon arrival, first responders discovered the deceased 18-year-old male at the scene, later identified by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner as James Mack Jr.
As detailed in the criminal complaint, witnesses informed law enforcement that the altercation began as a fight between Mack and Martin, which subsequently escalated when Martin allegedly shot Mack multiple times.
Witnesses also reported seeing Martin board a Pittsburgh Regional Transit bus following the incident. He was later apprehended by police in Clairton. Martin faces charges of criminal homicide, unlawful possession of a firearm, and possession of a firearm by a minor. The investigation remains active.
