James Haczynski Obituary, Death; – Burrillville police have confirmed the identity of the individual who tragically lost his life in a construction accident over the weekend. As reported by the police, they were dispatched to Victory Highway on Saturday following notifications of a construction-related incident.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim, identified as 52-year-old James Haczynski, trapped beneath a Lull machine at the location. A Lull machine, commonly referred to as a telehandler, typically features a forklift body with an extending boom arm.
Witness accounts indicate that Haczynski was maneuvering the machine to assist in guiding a large tree while another worker was in the process of cutting it down. During this operation, the tree shifted unexpectedly, leading to the machine’s overturning and resulting in Haczynski being pinned underneath, as reported by witnesses to the police.
Authorities have stated that Haczynski was pronounced dead at the scene. The Rhode Island Medical Examiner’s Office and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration have been informed of the incident.
