James Allen Arrested; 72-year-old charged with homicide after shooting in Stockton

James Allen Arrested; – A man in his 70s is currently facing homicide charges following a fatal shooting incident in Stockton’s Seaport District.

James Allen, aged 72, has been charged with murder after deputies from the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Sunday at the intersection of Hazleton Avenue and Harrison Street.

Upon their arrival, deputies discovered a 60-year-old individual suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies were able to identify a suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop around 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Allen was subsequently arrested and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on charges of murder, as well as illegal possession of a firearm and drugs, as indicated by correctional records.

He is scheduled to make an appearance in San Joaquin County Superior Court on Wednesday afternoon.

Details regarding the circumstances leading up to the shooting have not yet been disclosed.
