Jack Wilson Obituary, Death; – A 24-year-old man from Marcus Hook, identified as Jack Wilson, tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident in Chester on Friday evening.
The Delaware County Medical Examiner confirmed that Wilson, aged 24, died following a collision at the intersection of West 22nd and Wetherill Streets around 8 p.m. on Friday.
Chester Interim Police Commissioner Katrina Blackwell stated in a press release that when officers arrived at the scene of the motorcycle accident, emergency medical personnel were already present, providing assistance to the motorcycle operator.
Despite the lifesaving measures taken, the individual was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the accident, according to Blackwell. The Delaware County Reconstruction Team was called in to aid in the analysis of the collision and to document the scene.
The driver of the other vehicle involved in the incident voluntarily underwent chemical testing, was interviewed by investigators, and was subsequently released while the investigation continues.
This investigation is still active and ongoing, being carried out by the Chester Police Department and the Criminal Investigations Division (CID). No additional information will be disclosed at this time, Blackwell noted. Wilson was affiliated with the Eddystone Fire Company, which announced on their Facebook page that he was returning home after a night of riding. A GoFundMe campaign has been initiated to collect funds for Wilson’s funeral.
