Jack D Brinkoetter Obituary, Death; – The Coroner of Macon County has confirmed the identity of the 10-year-old who tragically lost his life in an ATV accident on Sunday.
According to reports, Jack D. Brinkoetter was declared dead at Decatur Memorial Hospital shortly after his arrival. A second boy was transported to a trauma center in Springfield, where he is currently in critical condition due to life-threatening injuries.
The investigation into the incident has determined that the two boys were being towed on an innertube behind an all-terrain vehicle (ATV). The driver of the ATV made a turn on a slope, resulting in the innertube being propelled into a large boulder.
The identity of the second boy has not been disclosed at this time. Both children were enrolled as 5th grade students at Mt. Zion Intermediate School.
