Israel David Price Obituary, Death; – The individual who was fatally shot during a confrontation with Sacramento County Sheriff’s deputies in Carmichael last week has been identified. Officials from the Sacramento County Coroner’s office have confirmed that the deceased is Israel David Price, a 24-year-old resident of Carmichael. The incident occurred around 3:40 a.m. on November 13, following a dispute with his roommates at their apartment.
Price reportedly fired at deputies from the roof of a nearby residence before three tactical deputies returned fire, resulting in his death. In the aftermath of the shooting, the involved deputies have been placed on administrative leave while investigations are conducted by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s office and the Sacramento County District Attorney’s office.
Neighbors reported hearing gunfire from the apartment located in the 6600 block of Moraga Way at approximately 11:40 p.m. on November 12, prompting them to alert the authorities. Although no injuries were reported, Price, who was armed with a revolver, managed to escape the scene.
The search for Price extended into the early hours of the morning, with Sacramento County deputies being joined by a tactical team and law enforcement agencies from Citrus Heights, Roseville, and Placer County. By 2:40 a.m., officers located Price again on the roof of a house in the 6800 block of Ashfield Way, near Hillhurst Drive.
Deputies in armored vehicles surrounded the residence, and negotiators attempted to persuade Price to come down; however, he reportedly aimed his weapon at the deputies, leading to the tragic outcome.
