Isac Gomez,Skye Banda Obituary, Death; – The two people who died after allegedly running a stop sign in Fresno County have been identified by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office.
According to the Fresno County Coroner’s Office, 22-year-old Isac Gomez, of Fresno and 20-year-old Skye Banda, of Selma, were identified on Friday as the victims. The pair were friends, according to officials.
CHP says the pair were involved in a crash Thursday around 9:05 p.m. at the intersection of Westlawn and McKinley avenues. Gomez was driving a Honda Civic northbound on Westlawn Avenue, approaching McKinley Avenue. At the same time, a 68-year-old woman was driving a Chevrolet Silverado westbound on McKinley Avenue, which does not have posted stop signs.
Officers say Gomez failed to stop at the stop sign and was struck on the right side by the Chevrolet. He was transported to Community Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries. His passenger, 20-year-old Banda, was pronounced dead on the scene.
The driver of the Chevrolet and her 70-year-old passenger sustained minor injuries and were transported for treatment.
