Ikeba Fraser Obituary, Death; – Authorities have now confirmed the identity of the individual who was fatally shot near a police station in Toronto’s west end on Tuesday.
According to a news release, police reported that 30-year-old Ikeba Fraser, a resident of Toronto, was shot on a residential street in the vicinity of Osler Street and Davenport Road shortly after 5 a.m. on July 22.
The incident took place in close proximity to 11 Division, and officers, along with paramedics, arrived at the scene within minutes. Fraser was discovered with gunshot wounds and was later pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect, as stated by the police, had fled before the officers arrived.
An image of Fraser has been released to the public.
This tragic shooting represents Toronto’s 23rd homicide of 2025.
“We acknowledge that an incident of this nature is extremely concerning for the community. We are treating this shooting with the utmost seriousness,” Duty Senior Officer Phil Sinclair informed reporters at the scene on Tuesday.
He indicated that preliminary information suggests the shooting may have been premeditated.
“It is quite audacious,” Sinclair remarked regarding the incident. “This occurred very close to the police station.”
