Ider Houser,Willoughby Obituary, Death; – Two adolescent males lost their lives in a collision on Tuesday morning when the vehicle they were traveling in was struck on the side by a Bolivar County deputy’s police car as they navigated an intersection directly in front of the deputy.
The incident occurred around 6:30 a.m. at the intersection of Crosby Rd. and Yale St, according to Bolivar County Deputy Coroner Murray Roark. He confirmed the identities of the two students as Ider Houser, aged 16, and Josh Willoughby, aged 13. Roark noted that Houser was the son of Cleveland Alderwoman Marcia Wheeler Houser.
Both boys were en route to football practice at Bayou Academy, and the accident transpired approximately one mile south of the school. Bayou Academy shared a message on Facebook, requesting prayers for all those affected.
“We ask that you pray for all the families involved in today’s tragic events, as well as our BA Family. We are all hurting at the loss of two of our own. We also ask that you pray for those at the Bolivar County Sheriff’s Office and the families involved.”
The school has made counseling services available for classmates.
