Humberto Delgado Arrested; – The individual believed to have summoned the police on himself following a fatal shooting over the weekend in the drive-thru of a McDonald’s located in East Hollywood has been charged with manslaughter, as stated by a spokesperson from the Los Angeles Police Department on Monday morning.
The incident, which also resulted in injuries to a second individual, commenced with a confrontation at the fast-food establishment situated at the intersection of Western Avenue and Romaine Street around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Initial reports from witnesses suggested that a dispute erupted in the drive-thru lane when one vehicle collided with another. As the altercation escalated, one of the participants brandished a firearm and discharged it, hitting a man in the chest and a woman in the leg.
A GoFundMe campaign established to assist the family with funeral costs identified the deceased victim as 36-year-old Feliciano “Felix” Curiel.
Tony Molina, the brother of the injured woman, remarked that she and Felix were on the verge of marriage. “We shared many wonderful family trips together, and now it feels as though everything has been taken away in an instant,” Molina expressed.
LAPD Officer Drake Madison confirmed on Monday that the suspect is 21-year-old Humberto Delgado. Madison informed KTLA’s Erin Myers that Delgado has been charged with felony voluntary manslaughter.
Witnesses present during the shooting indicated that Delgado claimed to officers that he was acting in self-defense; however, investigators have not verified this assertion.
Delgado is currently being held on a bail amount of $100,000.
