Henry Banks IV,Curtis Houston Obituary, Death; – Two individuals lost their lives in a late-night collision involving wrong-way driving on I-271, as reported by law enforcement officials.
The incident occurred shortly after midnight on Monday near Chagrin Boulevard. A press release from the Pepper Pike Police Department indicated that a 2017 Toyota Tundra was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of I-271 when it struck a 2024 GMC Truck. One of the vehicles ignited following the impact. Both drivers were taken to Hillcrest Hospital, where they were later pronounced deceased, according to the statement.
Authorities subsequently identified the drivers as Henry Banks IV, 32, from Bedford Heights, and Curtis Houston, 29, from Garfield Heights. Police confirmed that Houston was the driver traveling in the wrong direction at the time of the accident. The northbound lanes were closed for several hours but have since been reopened.
