Hendrix Truesdale Obituary, Death; – The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has confirmed the identity of the child who tragically lost his life after being struck by a vehicle early on Friday morning.
The deceased child has been identified as 11-year-old Hendrix Truesdale. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools has verified that Truesdale was a sixth-grade student at Coulwood STEM Academy.
According to officials, on Friday, December 13, shortly after 7:25 a.m., they received a report regarding a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle on Gum Branch Road, near the intersections of Valleydale Road and Bellhaven Boulevard.
Upon their arrival at the scene, officers discovered Truesdale lying on the roadside, while a 2016 Nissan Frontier was halted a short distance away from the location of the incident.
Truesdale was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. Investigators have indicated that the inquiry has determined Truesdale was crossing Gum Branch Road outside of a designated crosswalk at the time he was struck by the Frontier.
