Hassan Lugundi,Fnu Reena Obituary, Death; – Authorities have confirmed the identities of the 41-year-old woman and the 18-year-old man who were among three individuals fatally shot during a festival in West Valley City on Sunday evening.
Hassan Lugundi, aged 18, and Fnu Reena, aged 41, along with an 8-month-old infant, were shot at approximately 9:20 p.m. during WestFest at Centennial Park. The police have not disclosed the name of the infant or the 16-year-old male suspect, who was apprehended at the scene.
As reported by West Valley City police, a teenage suspect opened fire in what seemed to be a targeted assault on Lugundi, injuring five individuals in total. One officer returned fire but did not strike the shooter.
Investigators indicated that Lugundi was engaged in the altercation, while Reena and the infant were innocent bystanders who were accidentally shot. The infant is not related to Reena. Additionally, a pregnant woman sustained injuries while attempting to escape the vicinity, according to police.
The investigation is still ongoing.
