Haleigh Horger Obituary, Death; – A 20-year-old woman from Akron lost her life in a residential fire on Saturday evening. The victim has been identified by the Summit County Medical Examiner as Haleigh Horger.
Firefighters from Akron responded to the incident at a residence located in the 1100 block of Vernon Odom Blvd. at approximately 5:50 p.m. Upon their arrival, firefighters observed flames emanating from the upper window and the side of the structure.
According to reports, Horger was retrieved from the attic and subsequently transported to Cleveland Clinic-Akron General Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries. Additionally, another individual present in the home was taken to a local hospital for medical care; however, the identity and condition of this person have not been disclosed.
Two firefighters from Akron sustained injuries while combating the fire and were also taken to Cleveland Clinic-Akron General Medical Center, where their injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening. The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
