Cox was last seen on October 18 in the vicinity of Bosworth Avenue and Peony Avenue in Cleveland. As part of the investigation into his disappearance, law enforcement officials performed a wellness check at the residence shared by Cox and Vaden, discovering an empty apartment with minimal furnishings and what appeared to be blood on the floor.

The investigation indicated that the blood belonged to Cox, and it was determined that Vaden no longer resided at the apartment.

Emmanuel McQueen Jr. is facing a weapons charge.

On May 15, a kayaker discovered Cox’s body in a shallow, marshy area of the river, located south of State Route 2. His remains were wrapped in a fitted bed sheet and secured with marine-style rope.
On July 2, the Erie County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the identity of the body as that of Cox.

Investigators uncovered that Cox’s blood was present on clothing items retrieved from Vaden’s residence, and the bed sheet used to wrap him matched those found in their shared home.

According to the release, DNA evidence and phone records connected Vaden to the crime.
Cleveland Police apprehended Vaden and Emmanuel McQueen Jr., aged 41, at a new residence they shared.

During the arrest, authorities discovered a firearm in the home, while both individuals were under disability.
McQueen has been charged with possession of weapons under disability.
