George Cecil David Obituary, Death; – A woman has been apprehended following allegations of an assault that resulted in the death of a 65-year-old man nine years prior, according to Washington police.

In March 2016, George Cecil David, hailing from British Columbia, was residing in an apartment in Port Angeles, intending to visit his family and attend a funeral, as stated in a Facebook post by the city’s police department on June 10. David, recognized as a woodcarver, was discovered deceased in the apartment on March 28 of that year, having suffered blunt force trauma to his head, police informed the Times Colonist.

“These are in collections all over the world,” remarked his niece Bonnie David regarding his artwork to the publication. He had recently traveled to Vancouver to sell his creations shortly before his demise. In April 2016, law enforcement identified 55-year-old Tina Marie Alcorn as a key suspect, according to police.

Alcorn was taken into custody in Mount Vernon on an outstanding warrant issued by authorities in Arkansas, and while no charges related to David’s case were filed at that time, she was subsequently extradited to Arkansas and booked on charges of breaching her probation in a theft matter, police reported. In 2024, officers from Port Angeles reopened the investigation in collaboration with the Murdered Indigenous Women and People Task Force, as stated by police.

“This case has never been forgotten,” remarked Port Angeles Police Chief Brian Smith in the announcement. “The renewed investigation, enhanced by our partnership with the MMIWP Task Force, demonstrates our dedication to justice and to honoring George David’s legacy.” The Washington State Attorney General’s Office will be handling the charges against Alcorn in connection with David’s case, according to officers. Police did not clarify their relationship or the circumstances that led to the assault.

She waived her extradition and was booked into the Clallam County jail on a murder charge, as indicated by officers and records. Her bail has been set at $1 million, and she is scheduled to appear in court again on June 20 for her arraignment, officers stated. Port Angeles is located approximately 140 miles northwest of Seattle.
