Gennese Alicea Obituary, Death; – A tragic accident involving a car and a tractor-trailer occurred on Interstate 84 in Willington on Wednesday afternoon, resulting in the death of a woman from Massachusetts, as reported by state police. The incident transpired around 3:15 p.m. on the eastbound lane of the highway, close to Exit 71, according to state authorities.
As detailed in the crash report, a UPS tractor-trailer was positioned in the right lane, with a 2015 Hyundai Elantra trailing behind it. The Hyundai attempted to merge into the center lane but collided with the rear bumper on the driver’s side of the truck, causing it to spin before coming to a stop in the center lane. The passenger of the Hyundai, identified as 39-year-old Gennese Alicea from Southbridge, MA, sustained fatal injuries as a result of the collision, according to the report.
Both drivers involved—a 33-year-old man from Holland, MA, driving the Hyundai, and a 63-year-old man from Worcester, MA, operating the truck—were reported to have not suffered serious injuries, as per the crash report.
