Garon Nathaniel Killian Arrested; – The Catawba County Sheriff’s Office has recently reported an arrest in connection with a mass shooting that resulted in one fatality and eleven injuries.
Twenty-year-old Garon Nathaniel Killian, from Lenoir, NC, has been apprehended and faces a charge of attempted first-degree murder. During his initial court appearance, a judge from Catawba County established his bond at $200,000 across eight charges, as stated by the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation.
According to the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office, one individual has died and eleven others sustained injuries following a reported “mass shooting” at a gathering. On Sunday, at 12:45 a.m., deputies and officers from the Hickory Police Department responded to the residence after receiving notifications of multiple gunshot victims.
Authorities indicated that twelve victims have been identified. One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene, while another remains in critical condition as of the latest update. Currently, seven individuals are hospitalized. While some victims suffered gunshot wounds, others were injured while fleeing from the gunfire. The ages of the victims range from 16 to 58 years.
The deceased has been identified as 58-year-old Shawn Hood of Lenoir, and his next of kin have been informed. Law enforcement officials executed several search warrants on Tuesday as part of the ongoing investigation. They have indicated that additional arrests may occur. This investigation is a joint effort involving various local, state, and federal authorities.
