Franklin Mane Obituary, Death; – A second individual has been charged with murder related to the death of a Worcester man in 2021. The Worcester County District Attorney’s Office reported that on May 12, 2021, officers from the Leominster Police Department responded to a report of a body located near 46 Industrial Road. The deceased was later identified as 19-year-old Franklin Mane from Worcester, whose body was discovered in a densely vegetated area at the periphery of a parking lot.
An investigation conducted by the Office of the State Medical Examiner determined that Mane had suffered multiple gunshot wounds, ruling his death a homicide. In May 2023, 25-year-old Wilbert Nieves from Fitchburg was arrested and charged with murder in connection with this incident.
On Thursday, a second suspect, 23-year-old Jose Pacheco from Worcester, was taken into custody and charged with murder in relation to Mane’s death. Pacheco is currently held in state custody on an unrelated matter and was arraigned in Leominster District Court on Friday. The case against Nieves is still ongoing.
The investigation is being carried out by the Leominster and Worcester Police Departments, along with detectives from the Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office.
