When ABC13 inquired with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office regarding whether this incident was a fatal home invasion or if the couple was specifically targeted, a spokesperson indicated that they could not provide further information beyond the limited details already released, due to the ongoing investigation. Several neighbors expressed their concerns to Eyewitness News, noting that the perpetrator remains at large.
In remembrance of 72-year-old Franklin Frakes and 56-year-old Florentina Frakes, who were shot multiple times and killed late last week, individuals have been leaving flowers outside their home on Fitzwater. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office reported that investigators were summoned to the residence shortly before 8 p.m. on Friday after a neighbor discovered the couple deceased with gunshot wounds while checking on them.
Investigators noted that the same neighbor mentioned hearing gunfire in the vicinity on Thursday night. In a news release, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office stated that the motive behind the murders remains unclear and that no suspects have been identified.
