Fernando Arredondo Delgado Obituary, Death; – A pedestrian who was walking on Highway 1 in Big Sur was struck and killed by a van early Tuesday morning. According to the California Highway Patrol, a pedestrian was in the southbound lane of Highway 1 near Rocky Creek Bridge when they were struck by a van.
The crash happened at 5:08 a.m. The driver of the van, identified as a man from Aptos, was unable to avoid the crash, according to investigators. The driver stayed on the scene. The man was identified as Fernando Arredondo Delgado, 24, of Elk Grove. Alcohol and/or drugs are not believed to be a factor in this crash, the CHP said.
