Esther Jean Fulks,Rose Elaine Reece Obituary, Death; – Authorities on Wednesday released the identities of the two women who lost their lives in a devastating crash when their vehicle collided with another at an intersection in north Minneapolis.
Esther Jean Fulks, aged 53, and Rose Elaine Reece, aged 57, both residents of Minneapolis, succumbed to their injuries shortly after the incident that occurred late Monday morning at the intersection of North 26th and Emerson Avenues, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office. Fulks was pronounced dead at the scene, while Reece was declared deceased at North Memorial Health Hospital.
Two individuals in the other vehicle sustained critical injuries and were hospitalized, and a 17-year-old boy, who was waiting at a bus shelter for school transportation, was struck and taken to HCMC with noncritical injuries, as reported by the police. The identities of these individuals have not yet been disclosed.
Fulks was described as “a mother of four and very loved in her community,” as noted by her daughter D’Nia Fulks on an online fundraising page established for the family. According to police, a northbound vehicle on Emerson collided with the women’s vehicle as it traveled east on 26th Avenue. The force of the impact propelled the eastbound vehicle into the bus shelter, resulting in a fire.
Authorities indicated that excessive speed may have contributed to the crash; however, they have not yet determined which driver is suspected of speeding.
