Ernest Eugene Manwarren Obituary, Death; – A fatal incident occurred on Friday afternoon east of Emmetsburg, resulting in one death and injuries to three individuals following a collision between two vehicles.
The Iowa State Patrol reported that 32-year-old Desiree Angela Sternhagen from Janesville, Minnesota, was traveling south on 480th Avenue shortly before 3 PM. The accident report indicates that Sternhagen did not yield at the intersection with US Highway 18, leading to a collision with a westbound vehicle operated by 34-year-old Mathia Kay Nieves of Emmetsburg.
Both drivers sustained injuries and were subsequently transported by ambulance to the Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg.
Tragically, a passenger in Nieves’ vehicle, 67-year-old Ernest Eugene Manwarren of Emmetsburg, lost his life in the incident. The report notes that he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
Additionally, another passenger in Nieves’ vehicle, 34-year-old Justin Eugene Manwarren of Emmetsburg, also suffered injuries and was taken to Palo Alto County Hospital for treatment. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
