Eli Sowin Obituary, Death; – A 26-year-old man tragically lost his life while riding his motorcycle in Fond du Lac on March 28, and his friends are honoring his memory by organizing fundraising efforts to assist with expenses.

Eli Sowin was involved in a collision with a vehicle while riding his motorcycle on March 28, sustaining critical injuries that led to his passing at St. Agnes Hospital later that evening. The driver responsible for the incident is facing charges for allegedly causing the crash intentionally.

In tribute to Eli, his friends organized a car and bike gathering on Saturday from 1 to 8 p.m. along Howard Litscher Drive in Fond du Lac, celebrating the life of their departed friend. Additionally, the group sold memorial stickers, with the proceeds designated to support Eli’s family with their financial burdens.

Kierra Ramthun and Emilie Campagna, who played key roles in organizing the event, noted that the idea stemmed from Eli’s passion for cars and motorcycles.

“He had so many,” Emilie remarked. “Eli was the kindest person you could ever meet, with a radiant spirit. He would sell a car part and make a new friend in the process.”

Numerous individuals and organizations attended the event to pay their respects and acknowledge the impact Eli Sowin had on his community. Originally from Eden, he was well-known within the car and bike circles.

“If you were having the worst day, he would offer the best advice and a smile that would lift your spirits,” Kierra shared.

In the face of this profound loss, Eli Sowin’s friends and many others from across Wisconsin gathered on Saturday to honor his memory and celebrate his life. “This event is filled with joy; his family is deeply moved by the outpouring of love for Eli and the significance he held for so many,” Emilie expressed.

Kierra and Emilie initially planned for 50 brats, 50 burgers, and a variety of chips, but after posting about the event on Facebook, they realized they needed to increase their supplies. Thankfully, several local businesses, including Johnsonville, Red Bull, and various trucking companies, stepped in to assist.

Emilie added that people from all over Wisconsin showed up, from Green Bay to Milwaukee, to even a friend of Eli’s from Texas who flew in. It’s exactly what Eli and his family would have wanted, both Emilie and Kierra said.

“He wanted everybody to come together and enjoy each other’s company and time,” Kierra said. “He’s up there smiling ear to ear.”
