Elan Miranda,Pranav Narain Obituary, Death; – The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday identified the victims in separate Russian River drownings over the weekend and said neither one was wearing a life jacket.
In an incident Sunday afternoon at Monte Rio Beach on the lower Russian River, where two juveniles were struggling in the water, 17-year-old Elan Miranda of Oakland was pronounced dead at the scene, sheriff’s officials said.
The other juvenile was rescued by a bystander. Neither one was wearing a life jacket. Minutes later, at about 3:50 p.m., emergency responders found a man unresponsive in the waters of Martinelli Beach north of Jenner, the sheriff’s office said.
The man, identified as 31-year-old Pranav Narain of San Francisco, fell from a paddleboard, the sheriff’s office said. He was not wearing a life jacket.
A woman who was on the paddleboard with Narain was unable to rescue him and called 911, sheriff’s officials said. The Forestville Fire District pronounced the man dead at the scene.
