Edward Lopez-Robles,Luis Lopez-Robles Obituary, Death; – Two brothers lost their lives following a tragic confrontation with a neighbor that escalated into violence last Thursday night in Harris County, Texas, according to CBS affiliate KHOU.
Authorities are currently investigating the double homicide of the two brothers, who were reportedly shot by their neighbor during a domestic dispute. The deceased have been identified as Edward Lopez-Robles, aged 50, and Luis Lopez-Robles, aged 31.
As reported by Sergeant Jason Brown of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office to CrimeOnline, a woman was engaged in a domestic altercation with her live-in partner, Carlos Guerra, around 11 p.m. Fearing for her safety, she allegedly took her two teenage sons and sought refuge at a neighbor’s residence. This home was occupied by three brothers who welcomed her and her children, as noted by The New York Post.
When Guerra allegedly pursued the woman to the neighbor’s home, two of the brothers confronted him outside, according to local law enforcement. It was during this confrontation that he reportedly drew a firearm and opened fire, fatally wounding both brothers.
In response, the third brother emerged with his own weapon and returned fire, prompting Guerra to flee back to his residence. Upon the arrival of law enforcement, it was reported that the suspect turned the gun on himself, resulting in his death at the scene.
Tragically, two of the three brothers also succumbed to their injuries. A neighbor recounted the incident to KHOU, expressing disbelief despite the prevalence of gunfire in the area. “I’m in shock because I never saw something like that before,” Julio Franco stated. “I parked, and I heard them, and I was like, okay I need to rush and go inside my house.”
Another neighbor, Alberto Hernandez, shared his ongoing distress since the event. “I saw the bodies lying on the ground. I haven’t been able to sleep,” he remarked. “It was 3 in the morning and their bodies were still lying on the ground.”
