Edith Opry Obituary, Death; – An incident involving a motorcycle and an SUV has resulted in the death of a woman, as reported by authorities. According to Columbus police, the incident occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Monday at the intersection of Reese Road and Macon Road.
The deceased has been identified as 57-year-old Edith Opry from Columbus, as confirmed by Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan. Bryan stated that Opry was halted at a red light on Macon Road when she was rear-ended by another vehicle.
She was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital, where she was declared dead at 6:21 p.m., as per Bryan’s report. Bryan noted that Opry sustained blunt-force trauma to the chest. The investigation is being conducted by the Columbus Police Department’s Motor Squad, as indicated in a post on the department’s X page.
