Edgar Cumplido Obituary, Death; – A 32-year-old bicyclist who was fatally struck in a hit-and-run collision in South Los Angeles was identified Tuesday.
The collision occurred around 10:10 p.m. July 1, when a black Tesla Model X, traveling at a high rate of speed, struck the bicyclist while heading east on 67th Street from Flower Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Both the vehicle and the cyclist were traveling in the same direction.
The driver did not stop and continued east toward Broadway without rendering aid, police said. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics took the bicyclist to a hospital, where he later died. He was identified on Tuesday by the county Medical Examiner’s office as Edgar Cumplido.
The city is offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the identity, arrest and conviction of the suspect.
