Investigators report that Dacareus Andrews, 28, is deemed ‘armed and dangerous’ after an officer observed him fleeing from the location of a large party where the shooting occurred on Friday.

Court documents indicate that Andrews has faced charges of first-degree assault in two separate shooting incidents in Bay Minette. One incident occurred in 2015, and another in 2020. The resolution of the 2015 case remains unclear, but records confirm that he was convicted in connection with the 2020 shooting.
In 2020, Andrews was sought by Bay Minette Police after they issued a “be on the lookout” alert for him on their Facebook page. This latest shooting has left residents on Old Daphne Road feeling unsettled. Devante Smith reported hearing multiple gunshots and expressed concern that the violence is escalating.
“I definitely heard the gunshots. I think we have a gun violence issue around here lately,” Smith stated. “In the past couple of years, there have been many tragic events. I wish for a safer environment here. Action must be taken regarding this gun violence.” Investigators have indicated that Booker and Andrews were acquainted.
Smith remarked that it is a tragedy for both families, as they are both suffering.
“It’s just heartbreaking to see his future taken away. You never know what someone could become. I regret that his life was cut short, and I feel for the young man who did this,” Smith expressed. “I enjoy seeing people have fun, but resolving conflicts is crucial.” A murder warrant has been issued for Andrews.
