Dyllan Parr Arrested; – A man from Slidell was apprehended on Wednesday in relation to a deadly hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of a woman on I-10 East near Read Boulevard over the weekend, according to the New Orleans Police Department.
Dyllan Parr, aged 20, surrendered to the NOPD accompanied by his attorney. He was subsequently processed at the Orleans Justice Center.
The incident occurred on Sunday, July 27, at approximately 9:53 p.m., when authorities reported that a 53-year-old woman driving a Mazda 626 halted in the roadway due to mechanical issues. At that moment, she was struck from behind by a Mercedes Benz driven by Parr.
According to the NOPD, the collision caused the Mercedes to become airborne before it collided with a concrete guardrail. Officers reported that Parr fled the scene on foot.
Parr is facing charges of hit-and-run resulting in serious injury or death. Following an interview, police stated that he allegedly confessed to hitting the Mazda and leaving the scene.
